Consumer product manufacturers have a choice when selecting a testing lab. Proficiency and technical expertise weigh heavily in that decision. Microchem scientists receive extensive training to limit variability in test results and to ensure reproducibility and consistency between studies.
The American Association of Textiles Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) recently awarded Microchem Laboratory with a certificate of successful completion of the AATCC Antibacterial Proficiency Program. Scientists at Microchem performed the following AATCC standard test methods designed to evaluate antibacterial effectiveness of textiles:
Multiple scientists participated and each data set was submitted to AATCC for inter-laboratory comparison. Microchem’s results were some of the least variable (low standard deviations) when compared to other participating labs and agreed with the grand mean for both methods.
