November 2022

EPA is Requesting Information on Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) management, gathering input on practices that promote and improve IAQ.

The EPA request for information follows the Clean Air in Building Challenge, a component of the White House’s National COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. The White House also released a summary of their Summit regarding the intended goals on improving indoor air quality of buildings through ventilation, filtration, and air cleaning.

Industry leaders and experts are encouraged to submit their comments to the EPA “relating to the built environment and health, indoor air quality, epidemiology, disease transmission, social sciences and other disciplines.” Once the information is reviewed, the Agency will implement IAQ improvements and strategies specifically for schools and commercial buildings. Formal comments can be submitted to the Federal Register and are due by December 5th, 2022.
