Antimicrobial Test Laboratories offers a great variety of fungal resistance tests for materials.  The ASTM G-21 and ASTM D3273 test methods are most popular. Manufacturers and researchers use these methods to understand how their products will stand up to fungal attack in “real life” use.

For ASTM G-21, test materials are sprayed with a combination of five different types of fungi, then observed relative to control materials for 28 days.  For ASTM D-3273, test materials are suspended over a soil bed that has been inoculated with three different types of fungi and observed relative to control materials for 28 days.
